Sustainability Policy

A commitment to best sustainable practices lies at the very heart of everything we do in Total Produce. Underpinning our approach are the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the framework upon which we have built our group sustainability strategy, a template focused on the Environmental, Ethical, Social and Economic impact of our operations worldwide.  In addition to complying at all times with relevant national and international legislation and industry codes of conduct, this strategy commits us to-

  • Acting as a custodian of the environment in which we operate; measuring, managing and reducing our consumption of energy and water and the waste that we generate, conserving and promoting biodiversity and protecting precious natural resources.
  • Being a constructive partner; engaging with stakeholders to deliver equitable returns across the supply chain, committing to being a responsible employer and contributing positively to the communities in which we trade.
  • Conducting our business in the right way; assuring the quality, traceability and safety of our produce, harnessing the enormous potential of fresh produce to secure our commercial future, promoting the environmental and health related virtues of the products that we sell and clearly and transparently communicating our sustainability story to all of our stakeholders.

By doing so, we seek to hold ourselves to a higher standard- one extending beyond adherence to minimum legal requirements alone and to cultivate a reputation as a progressive, sustainable business, one of which our employees can be proud and on which growers and customers can rely.
